Parallax is not always good

There is good webdesign and then there is over design. Over designing a webpage can distract users from what you are trying to say and often times attract critics to your work. While fancy techniques like Parallax scrolling can make for interesting effects, it should not be used to overshadow content, but instead it should support your content and emphasize your points.
